HUMMINGBIRD [
Phillip Greenlief + EVELYN DAVIS +
Jordan Glenn ]
WE MICROMANAGE INFINITY [ BLEVIN BLECHDOM +
Thomas Dimuzio + JAMES GOODE]
WE MICROMANAGE INFINITY: Absorbed in modular synth tangles, software snarls, and engrossed with toy noisemakers and birdcalls, audience eye contact can be hard to come by when this supertrio of BLEVIN BLECTUM, JAMES GOODE and
Thomas Dimuzio take the stage. There's no time for guitarface or elvis presley moves when you are fine tuning minutae of the infinite miasma. Humans are not mimetic, as the paypal antichrist preaches to his brownshirts. No, we are strapped into the multiverse, inimitable puppets of fate that can only be steered by simulataneous tugs on our innumerable attachments. It's down to us, we storm-tossed action figures of flesh and juice, to thrash, dance, kung fu grip, and scream ourselves into that tangle, even as we stare into the impassive face of three micromanaging furies. Like all beauty, it's grim.
HUMMINGBIRD: EVELYN DAVIS (piano),
Jordan Glenn (drums),
Phillip Greenlief (saxophone, clarinet). mummingbirds exist in north coast indigenous legends as healers, or a spirit that helps people in need. they often occupy the role of fire bringer. these elements seem ideal when considering what music can offer an audience; this trio endeavors to achieve these aims in performance. in order to heal, the mind needs to shut the fuck up, and in western medicine, drugs are often used to achieve this. in general, music is better for the body, than drugs. listening is better when the voice is disengaged, so come out, turn off the voice and get some good medicine.
