CCM Composer-in-Residence ROGER KLEIER presents a new piece
for improvisers and electronics that he developed during his
residency. The piece will feature the composer on electric
guitar, ANNIE GOSFIED on sampling keyboard, and Bay Area
treasure, JOAN JEANRENAUD, on cello. Kleier's unique style
draws equally from improvisation, contemporary classical
music, and the American guitar traditions of blues, jazz, and
rock. Much of his compositional work involves the development
of a broader vocabulary for the electric guitar through the
use of extended techniques and digital technology. He has
performed and/or recorded with Elliott Sharp, Davey Williams,
Ikue Mori and Eugene Chadbourne among many others, and has
toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada,
Europe, and Australia.
