Monique Buzzarté, trombonist, is an active freelance musician in the greater New York area. As an avid proponent of contemporary music, she has commissioned and premiered many new works for trombone alone and in chamber ensembles.
An author and educator as well as a performer, Ms. Buzzarté was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for her research on the brass compositions of women composers published in The Musical Women: An International Perspective, Vol. III (Westport, CT: Greenwood Press, 1991).
