"PEAKTIMES: TRICK-OR-TREAT NEWS" Everyday is Halloween while reading the newspaper. Spooks and masked monsters lurk behind each page. Improvising upon audience-selected articles, PEAKTIMES projects today's news into experimental music and raw dance theater.

LAURIE BUENAFE is inspired by traditional and contemporary world art forms, including Uzbek (Central Asian) Dance, Middle Eastern Dance, Flamenco and Jazz. She was awarded the Karen Shanley World Dance Scholarship at Orange Coast College, and she actively performed with Gulistan Dance Theater and Ya Amar! Dance Company in the US and Japan. Since relocating to the Bay area in 2002, she began exploring Butoh and Improv Dance, and was selected as a participating artist for APAture 2003. Laurie is currently performing at Noh Space, in Katrina Jankowski's play "Uroboros".
AVA CHANTE DE L’ESPRIT is a creationeer, performer, painter, writer, cemetary statue photographer, and chameleon who revels in sampling life from its varied flavors and textures in order to better comprehend all that is seen and unseen within this vast grain of sand called the Universe. Her words appear in numerous publications, her music CD "Vision On the Rise" is available at www.Amazon.com, and her children's book "Sometimes Horrible Things Happen, Sometimes Horrible Things Are Done" is soon to be released. Ava is politically active, particularly in developing alternatives to rampant mental "health" system abuses, and in circumventing genocide of the creative spirit. She has performed in many theater productions, on national and international television, and in the pool of your local YMCA.
RAMA has played music since age 9. Starting with the guitar, he has performed with many different groups along the West Coast, including Seattle's Numantra. He graduated to the sitar in 1996, following a trip to India. He has spent the last couple of years composing music for TV and film as well as teaching beginning and intermediate sitar, and running bay area recording studio, Cordhead Recordings. Rama's current band Ubzorb is putting the finishing touches on its debut release and will soon begin playing out around the bay area. www.cordhead.com
ZEPPI is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who is committed to playing music, composition, teaching and exposing music to the world. His formal musical education began in NY, and he has studied locally with Beth Custer and Fred Frith. Zeppi has performed with numerous ensembles, including Attack of the Absolute Zeros, Stripminers, Down With People, Timeless Logic, Phyliss Diller, ½ Chicken, Tyrone Hill’s Deep Space Posse, Other Minds Ensemble, and Vingt Doigts, a new music group which he founded. He has composed original music scores for theater and Huckabay McAllister Dance. Zeppi’s playing can be heard on eleven recorded works, including his self-titled CD, and Vingt Doigts’ "Social Behaviors".
