LA-based guitarist and current member of Wilco, Nels Cline comes to Yoshi's to pay tribute to the artistry of legendary pianist Andrew Hill. The group will use his compositions as a springboard for unique ensemble interaction. Nels Cline will create new arrangements that will be alternately unusual and literal, depending on the piece. A couple of Mr. Hill's newer pieces plus those of the classic Blue Note era will be included. Some pieces will be performed in suite form, and the lack of piano and the inclusion of electronic elements will hopefully engender a fresh yet honorable perspective on the music of this great, and perhaps under-appreciated artist.
