Pioneer performance painter Nancy Ostrovsky comes out from NY to paint to the music of Indie Jazz Stalwarts Patrick Cress' Telepathy. One night only...one set only.

Painter Nancy Ostrovsky, in addition to her 33 years of studio work, has painted to live music for over 25 years. Her "Paintings To Music" are done "live" while Ostrovsky is on stage with the musicians as they play. Ostrovsky uses the immediacy of the musicians, the music, and the environment to record the performance. Ostrovsky has worked with the musicians of the highest caliber who have included: David Murray, Fred Hopkins, Erica Lindsay, Roswell Rudd, Leonard Brown, Lisa Thorson, Andrew Cyrille, Syd Smart, Thurman Barker, Hugh Brodie, Tony Perez and many others.

Patrick Cress’ Telepathy, since early 2002, has recorded three albums, played both nationally and internationally, and continues to carry the torch for Indie Jazz in the Bay Area. ‘Telepathy’ is an original jazz quartet that creates highly energized improvised music. Its unusual instrumentation and openness to unconventional time signatures bring new ideas that push past the traditional sounds of jazz.
