Fred Frith/Marque Gilmore

Fred Frith has played with a huge cross-section of the improvisation scene worldwide and has always had a special affinity for drummers and percussionists. In fact when asked what made his heart beat in a 1989 interview, Miles Davis replied: "Fred Frith is a great drummer". Starting with his iconoclastic record Guitar Solos, released more than 30 years ago, Fred has completely redefined the possibilities of the electric guitar, and he continues to break new ground with every performance. His duo with Marque Gilmore, already explored on British stages last year, is electrifying.

Marque Gilmore "the inna…most" is a neo-legendary drummer and one of the founding members of NYC's Black Rock Coalition. Marque has found his nomadic rhythmic dwelling inside the drum. Marque has been at the forefront of Live Drum & Bass since 1993, his musicianship is critically acclaimed world-wide and maintains this position with his project "DRUM-FM: Interactive Tribalistic Sessions." Launched as an "interactive jungle club" in New York City in 1994, DRUM-FM is to date, the 1st live Jungle/Drum & Bass ensemble specifically combining live instrumentation, MIDI-electronics and DJs. Marque is currently touring with the Omar Sosa Quartet.
