Sunday, April 30 Police Bin {under} Rock + Sizemo 8PM, $6-10

Police Bin {under} Rock is an improvising quartet born out of an internet discussion about the strictures of genre classification in record stores. This ensemble features four adventurous musicians, most of whom have traversed academic improv and rock music and maintained their individuality, not to mention senses of humor. PB{u}R features Phillip Greenlief , John Hanes (Chrome, Romeo Void), Gino Robair (Thinking Fellers Union), and Moe! Staiano (Sleepytime Gorrilla Museum).

Sizemo plays "Evolved Rock," with roots in progressive rock, jazz fusion, and "World music." The name Sizemo is a variation on seismic, a name chosen because of the inclusion of two earth-shaking bass producing instruments: the 5-string bass of Sam Sheats and the Chapman Stick of Micah Ball. Rounding out the sound is the fluid, and yet often unpredictable, drum work of Sam Markewich.

Cost: $6-10
