Kasey Knudsen Septet

A yin/yang evening of original music by two of the Bay Area's most
inventive women bandleaders: Mezzacappa's quartet focuses free jazz
energy into concise compositional statements that match groove with
texture; Knudsen's arrangements draw on lush harmony and
rhythmically-driven counterpoint to infuse jazz forms with classical
and pop music sensibilities.
