-Paul Hoskin & ma++ ingalls duet
-The New Black [Jeremy Drake, David Rothbaum, Gino Robair, John Shiurba]

*All* proceeds go directly to the musicians.

Paul Hoskin, visiting this week from Astoria, Oregon, is the west
coast's premier improvising contrabass clarinet player. Except
maybe for Oakland's ma++ ingalls, his duet partner for this evening.

"Capturing the vibe of the English school of non-idiomatic improv
and AMMMusic, but with a noise sensibility," The New Black is an
improvising quartet featuring four well-known west coast instrument
abusers: Los Angeles's Jeremy Drake (guitar) and David Rothbaum
(analog electronics) along with the Bay Area's Gino Robair (percussion)
and John Shiurba (guitar). Their 2008 recording The White Album
is a double vinyl album with three side-long improvisations and a
fourth side with two dozen locked-groove loops, the whole thing
recorded direct to disk. Tom-Bob says "check it out."
