Mindless Thing brought together by drummer/percussionist Jordan Glenn
is a highly intricate and deep project centered around the poetry of
saxophonist and sage Jim Ryan. The music is an ethereal journey into deep realms of history and subconscious primordial emotional states complimented by a sonic combination of similar mindlessness.

Thollem tours perpetually as a solo pianist, vocalist and collaborator regularly covering much of North America and Europe playing his unique brand of composed and spontaneous post-classical and hyphenated music. In the past 6 years, he has added 23 albums to his discography on 10 different vanguard record labels in 4 different countries. His musical experiences are extremely diverse and his ever expanding variety of approaches to making music result in dramatically new and different outcomes. He plays in punk clubs, museums, concert halls and riots. He works regularly with film makers, dancers, poets and painters as well as a wide array of divergent musicians. He has won numerous awards and is the founding director of Estamos Ensemble, a Mexican-American cross border ensemble for musical exchange.

Chloe Jane Scott studied both jazz and classical music with Joe Henderson, Rebeca Mauleón, Wayne Wallace, Tootie Heath, Julian Priester, Eddie Marshall, James Galway and Linda Lukas (SF Symphony), eventually obtaining her Bachelor Degree in Classical Flute Performance. Chloe has recorded and performed with such luminaries as John Tchicai, Yosvanny Terry, Thomas Dyani, Harry Beckett, and Pierre Dorge. She currenly works with the Josh Jones as well as Carlos Oliveira’s Kata-Vento. Chloe Jane Scott plays with a fire and intensity that drives her and her music forward, exploring new sounds and concepts.

Rent Romus is an American saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, music and performing arts producer, and community leader living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is heavily involved in exploring past the confines of standard music forms of composition and improvisations in a wide variety of musical settings. He is also focused in presenting and supporting the local experimental and avant-garde community. From his very beginnings as a student of Jazz while being exposed to the twilight tutelage of Stan Getz he found himself drawn to the outer realms of music. From 1986 to present day Rent Romus has recorded and released over thirty recordings as a leader and sideman featuring a cross section of new up and coming musicians as well as seasoned veterans of the improvised arts which have included Jason Olaine, Steve Rossi, Chico Freeman, John Tchiai, Jonas Müller, Stefan Pasborg, Toyoji Tomita, Dave Mihaly, Bill Noertker, CJ Borosque, Philip Everett, Ray Scheaffer, Paris Slim, Jesse Quattro, Scott R Looney, Bob Marsh, Jim Ryan, Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Tobias Fischer, Thollem McDonas, and Vinny Golia to name a few. As a producer and artist business activist he runs Edgetone Records a label for all forms of improvisation and experimentation. He is the founder and Executive Director of Outsound Presents under which curates The SIMM Music Series at the Musicians Union Hall as well as the long standing Luggage Store Gallery New Music Series both in San Francisco, and The Outsound New Music Summit (formerly the edgetone new music summit), a national experimental music festival held in the greater San Francisco Bay Area every summer in July.
