Dan Joseph is an Oakland based composer/performer/multi-instrumentalist. Born in Washington, DC and a California resident since 1991, he is a graduate of Mills College and CalArts. His works include pieces for a variety of ensembles and solo instruments, mixed media and numerous tape pieces. Recent performances with hammer dulcimer include: New Langton Arts (5/99); Noe Valley Ministry (5/99); Berkeley Art Center with John Ingle and India Cooke (1/99); Art Rattan Co., Oakland, with John Ingle (7/31); Ruthless Grip Art Space, Washington, DC with experimental vocal trio COMMA (6/98); Mohawk Willage, upstate NY, with Pauline Oliveros and Thomas Buckner (6/98); and Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival, San Francisco with The Flowing Stream Ensemble (10/98).
