The Neshama Alma Band is a San Francisco-based collaboration of composer/guitarist Ernesto Diaz-Infante and filmmaker/flutist Marjorie Sturm. Neshama means soul in Hebrew, and Alma means soul in Spanish.

Previous work has consisted of experiential performances that aim to provoke private reflections in public spaces around retribution, forgiveness, and war. Past performances include the Bang On a Can Marathon at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco as well as the Pintores de Aztlán art exhibition at La Casa Encendida in Madrid.

Lyrical and music collaborations appear on two albums— “2 Join Occult” was released on Pax Recordings in 2004, as well as songs and compositions on the “Voices in the Wilderness: Dissenting Soundscapes of GW’s America”, also released on Pax Recordings in 2005.

"Clearing Clouds of Confusion" is Neshama Alma Band’s latest album. It consists of two live radio performances. The first hosted by DJ Amazing Grace on KALX-FM in Berkeley. The second hosted by Bob Thawley on KXSF-FM in San Francisco. Both performed in 2023.
