The Jazz House is a non-profit organization providing youth the opportunity to learn, perform, create, and share in a community-driven jazz environment.
The Jazz House has lost its lease and closed on October 31, 2004. We continue to host individual events at various locations during our search for a new space. We will maintain our website with new developments and events, and will continue onward with our search for a creative solution to keep the music alive.
About Us
As a youth-oriented, jazz-focused performance space, The Jazz House works to promote both youth and jazz. As an alcohol-free environment, jazz afficianatos of all ages can come together and enjoy music. We're working to create an inviting, fun and educational space for kids to congregate and share...to learn and to grow....to showcase their talent. Each member of our staff is an unpaid volunteer, allowing all funding to support our growth.
Musical Performances
We offer a variety of opportunities for kids to promote and develop their talents. Performances are held by local youth duos, trios and jazz bands. Student musicians serve as opening acts for fundraising performances at the venue. These performances often consist of national jazz artists, many of whom have served as musical role models for students. Many performers volunteer their time to host music clinics while in town, giving students a chance to learn about their careers.
