Friday Night Music (FNM) is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's longest running improvisational music and performance groups.

Originally established in 1978, FNM holds public and private studio recording sessions and live performances at venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area on any given Friday night. A typical session includes anywhere from 5 to 20 musicians and performing artists participating in the creation and recording of free-form improvization and "sound sculptures".

FNM is an association of Engineers, Musicians, Dancers, Performing Artists and Videographers who enjoy the thrill of spontaneity. For us, the magic of real time creativity is irresistible. On any given Friday night we gather to create and record artistic improvisational music, dance, theater, video, special effects, computer graphics, and other performing arts.
