Acclaimed Postmodernist composer, pianist and multimedia visual artist, David Thomas Roberts, performs his most recent as well as earlier works for piano and synthesizer. With affinities for both Neo-romanticism and Minimalism, Roberts’ music evinces an encompassing and overtly expressive, sensuous sound world.
The “Out of a Lyrical Darkness” program features such works as “The Window,” “DeBorgia to Thompson Falls” and “Nocturne No. 1,” plus sections of Roberts’ piano suite in progress, MAP DREAMS. Also included will be the world premiere of the suite’s opening section, “Of Place.”
