Skatcharts are framed sheets of cardboard (36x18 inches), painted white, making a canvas on which designs and images are placed.  Objects such as metal washers, lengths of thin wooden dowel, bronze rod, sandpaper-like surfaces, plastic combs, etc. are glued to the “canvas” and are played with specially shaped combs with contact microphones taped to the back.  Several Skatcharts form the basis of a set of improvisations.  Each improvisation is inspired by the name of the particular Skatchart featured.  Four of what will eventually be eight such pieces are heard tonight.  They are:  Classic Complexity, Chaos Erupting, Skatch Garden and Pastoral.

Cost: $10-$15 sliding scale
