Finalizing the evening off with Pamela Z! Pamela Z is a composer/performer and media artist who makes solo works combining a wide range of vocal techniques with electronic processing, samples, gesture activated MIDI controllers, and video. She has toured extensively throughout the US, Europe, and Japan. Her work has been presented at venues and exhibitions including Bang on a Can (NY), the Japan Interlink Festival, Other Minds (SF), the Venice Biennale, and the Dakar Biennale. She's created installations and has composed scores for dance, film, and chamber ensembles. Her awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Doris Duke Artist Impact Award, Creative Capital, the Herb Alpert Award, MAP, the ASCAP Award, an Ars Electronica honorable mention, the NEA/Japan-US Fellowship, and a Djerrassi Resident Artist Program residency.
On second we have T.D. Skatchit & Company! Featuring Tom Nunn & David Michalak playing skatchboxes with guests from over 20 collaborators known as The Company. Tonight Tom Djll is The Company! Djll's on trumpet and electronics for some ELECTRIC SKATCH! A free T.D. Skatchit & Co. CD featuring Tom is included with admission!
also! also!
Starting off the night with Kim Nucci! Nucci is a relocated East Coast, now West Coast multimedia artist who specializes in music composition, painting, and instrument building. She plays woodwinds, and laptop. She takes probably too much pleasure in the preparation (and destruction) of pianos. No pianos tonight, though What Will She Do? Make it on time and find out!

BREATHING is a movement from Carbon Song Cycle (a inter-media chamber work by composer/performer Pamela Z and visual artist Christina McPhee). The work was originally written for voice & electronics, bassoon, viola, cello, percussion, and tape. This is a solo version performed by the composer (with just voice, processing, and tape), recorded at a 3/13/2014 duo concert with Joan La Barbara as part of the 2014 ROOM Series. Pamela Z is using a gesture controller (designed and built by Donald Swearingen). © 2013 Last Letter Music (ASCAP)
