Presented by:
Music Department

Two great musicians on the UCSC faculty, Giacomo Fiore and Kyle Bruckmann, push the boundaries of their instruments (electric guitar, oboe), redefining what it might mean to play them. Fiore will play an historic work by Cesar Bolanos (Peru). It is the first piece known for electric guitar and computer. Bruckmann will play his own work, for multi-channel electronics and oboe. And the two will play little-known works by the late American composer Eleanor Hovda. Part of the annual April in Santa Cruz Festival of Contemporary Music at UC Santa Cruz.
