Beth Custer premieres Drawdown, an evening-length chamber work based on the compelling Paul Hawken book Drawdown: 100 Solutions to Reverse Global Warming.

The ensemble features Custer on voice/clarinets, cellist Freya Seeburger and her ensemble Juxtapositions with Mia Nardi-Huffman (violin), Naomi Stine (piano) and special guest Jim Kassis on drums/percussion.

An multi-movement piece covering solutions for climate change as laid out in Drawdown, Custer has created a journey of musical styles from driving rhythmic cello loops, to plaintive solo violin, to chaotic chordal movement, Drawdown is Custer’s latest installment of her works based on ecology.

Audiences will delight in the interplay between members of this lovely chamber group assembled especially for these premieres. Supported in part by an Individual Artists grant from San Francisco Arts Commission.

Cost: $15-20
