Bay Area drummer, composer and bandleader Jason Levis visits with his new Septet to premiere a series of musical suites merging the energy and spontaneity of jazz improvisation with the nuance and rigor of classical composition. The music transverses the planes of melody, harmony, and groove in an unorthodox manner: fraying the edges, deconstructing the framework, and super-imposing tone, timbre and time.
