**CANCELLED** “Cloud About Mercury Revisited” with Feat of Clay, featuring trumpeter Eric Dahlman, zendrummer E. Doctor Smith, bassist Edo Castro Woodhouse and guitarist Peter McKibben. in 1990 Dahlman and Smith were inspired by the music of guitarist David Torn’s 1987 ECM album “Cloud About Mercury”, featuring drummer Bill Bruford, bassist Tony Levin and trumpeter Mark Isham, and formed the Boston quartet Feat of Clay with bassist Michael Terry and guitarist Thomas Hevey. Like the aforementioned Cloud About Mercury group, Feat of Clay also employed the use of Simmons electronic drums, Chapman Stick, bass, trumpet, synthesizers, digital effects, loops and samples.

Now, 30 years later Feat of Clay will present new arrangements of the music from that ECM recording, music from Torn, Bruford and Levin’s subsequent album “Upper Extremities”, and original compositions by McKibben, Castro Woodhouse, Dahlman and Smith. Selections include “Snapping the Hollow Reed”, “Previous Man”, “3 Minutes of Pure Entertainment”, Original Sin” and “Presidents Day”. For this performance the quartet will also employ some of the latest technology in musical instruments; 7 and 9 string basses, Zendrum EXP, loop stations, Roland guitar synthesizers and digital effects. Their self-titled upcoming album will be released in late Summer of 2020.
