Handcrafting Soft Circuits focuses on ways to learn about circuits via paper crafts. Beyond the value of crafts as creative practice and art they provide a respite from the tyranny of the screen, in a world where we primarily engage with computers to learn/make.

From soft circuits and paper switches to pen and paper drawing we will examine the ways you can work with your hands to combine electricity, interactivity, light and imagination. We will use paper to draw our own circuits and then use conductive tape and LEDs to create various types of circuits. We will also learn about making a simple switch and then invent our own using the possibilities of paper engineering and imagination. It’s a great workshop for those interested in origami, crafting, and making things light up!
