Quinteto Latino is pleased to be hosting the award-winning Cuban-American composer Orlando Jacinto García in a concert of his works including the world premiere of a new French horn solo, "la bandera sin colores," performed by the quintet's founder, Armando Castellano. García, a student and close friend of Morton Feldman, composes haunting music that suspends time with slow-moving timbre and texture changes. The concert will also include his solo and ensemble compositions “noche” for multiple flutes and clarinets, the bassoon solo “aire, madera, y metal,” “separacion” for English horn and electronics, as well as “múltiples vientos en la distancia” for wind quintet. Mr. García will be present to introduce his works and meet audience members.
