An evening of solo acoustic and amplified music from Matthew J. Rolin (Cleveland, OH), Danny Paul Grody (SF Bay Area), and SEASONS (Chris Duncan, SF Bay Area).

Matthew J. Rolin. With a slew of full-length releases on some of the Western hemisphere’s sharpest labels for out, experimental or psychedelic music -- Astral Spirits, Feeding Tube, Worried Songs, Trouble in Mind -- Matthew J. Rolin has quietly established himself as one of America’s higher purveyors of guitar music. He’s often worked in collaboration with his wife, the librarian and hammer dulcimer player Jen Powers, with whom he curates music for the Astral Spirits imprint Astral Editions; recent years have brought forth collaborations between Rolin, Powers, and Cloud Nothings drummer Jayson Gerycz.

Danny Paul Grody duo w/ with Rich Douthit. Danny Paul Grody is a solo musician and founding member of San Francisco-based bands Tarentel and The Drift . He is a self taught guitarist, and the melodies at the core of Danny’s songwriting bring to mind his love of folk music, Takoma-style fingerpicking, and all things minimal, repetitive and hypnotic.

SEASONS is the moniker for the sonic efforts of multi-disciplinary artist Christopher Robin Duncan. Utilizing field recordings of the Pacific Ocean as a foundation, Duncan weaves and blends lush tones made from processed harmonica, tuning forks, percussion and electronics. Ocean music. Dusk music. SEASONS also acts as a platform for collaboration, often including other musicians for performances.
