Cyril Guiraud Quartet
The Cyril Guiraud Quartet unites four distinctive voices in contemporary jazz: French-born saxophonist Cyril Guiraud, Miami-born drummer and composer Brother Ruckus, Bay Area bassist Gary Johnson, and Oakland-raised pianist Ian McArdle. Their sound moves fluidly between straight-ahead swing, neo-soul grooves, and modern improvisation, rooted in tradition and oriented toward the new. The quartet has completed recording its debut album, due for release in late 2026.
Guiraud has performed at SFJAZZ, the Monterey Jazz Festival, and Stern Grove Festival, and shared stages with Mark de Clive-Lowe, Michel Petrucciani, Kenny Garrett, and George Clinton. He is the founder of the doubleOone label and the music collaboration project everwave.
