The Monks of Doom
Jonathan Segel
Darklings

The return of the Monks of Doom, the infamous avant-rocking spin off band from Camper Van Beethoven. After a hiatus of several years, drummer Chris Pedesen is coming in from Australia to rejoin bassist Victor Krummenacher and guitarists Greg Lisher and David Immergluck (escaping from the Counting Crows) for a series of shows showing that they never really left. The Monks are in the process of finishing a new cd of cover tunes that they started some years back, as well as dusting off live tapes for potential release.

As if that wasn't enough, from the other side of the Camper Van Beethoven stage, Jonathan Segel will be opening these shows with his band, promoting one of his many new cds, specifically the one that's made out of rock music: "Edgy Not Antsy" out now on Pitch-A-Tent Records/Magnetic.

Jonathan's band includes SF Bay Area local musical luminaries Myles Boisen on guitar, Gino Robair on drums, Chris Xefos on bass and Anne Hege on vocals.

Cost: $10
