Jon Brumit and Marc Horowitz, as "Sliv & Dulet", in their ongoing efforts to research and develop the most cutting edge products and services, present a live musical sports event entitled "One on One" at The LAB, Friday July 16th at around 7pm.
For this event, the duo will create a live soundtrack for a live sporting event happening within the main gallery between two opponents. Sliv & Dulet, as well as the two opponents, each wearing white Tyvek© lab suits, battle it out for the coveted "Lab Tech of the Year" award through a rigorous game of indoor tennis using a variety of unusual objects - also painted white - basketballs, steaks, a wig, stuffed animals, newspapers, and more. Sliv & Dulet, while monitoring the research, will each sonically represent one of the two contestants in the creation of a sound document and musical dialogue of the research.
"One on One" will be approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length, and will incorporate samplers, sound processing equipment and fx, contact microphones on the floor, net, and raquets, and the usual tennis equipment - raquets, lab suits, steaks, and the like.
