Artist Bios:
Ryuzo Fukuhara, butoh performer
Based in Japan and Czech Republic, Ryuzo has been performing in Europe and Japan for 17 years. He started dancing Butoh in 1987 and joined Min Tanaka's Maijuku in 1991. He studied butoh under Min Tanaka at "Body Weather Farm" in Hakushu,Yamanashi Japan and appeared in Min's works such as Rite of Spring (National Theatre in Praha 1992) . After he left the group, he performed as a solo dancer and also with his company Alchemic Sis. In 2000 he started to work often in Czech republic. He has led numerous workshops in Europe in order to help promote Butoh dance as an important part of the Japanese cultural spirit.
Paige Sorvillo, butoh performer
paige sorvillo is fascinated with the visceral, the immediate, the inevitable… with precision and chaos. since 2000, she has been most influenced by her extensive study of butoh w/ Minako Seki, Shinichi Momo Koga, SU-EN among many others and Action Theater w/ creator Ruth Zaporah. Recent work includes her 2003 solo Third Skin and collaborations with: Kinji Hayashi; Jess Curtis/Gravity(SF); SO.GO.NO (NYC); Degenerate Art Ensemble(Seattle); & inkBoat/Shinichi Momo Koga (Berlin/SF). Paige teaches butoh and Pilates and is co-director of Temescal Arts Center (www.temescalartscenter.org).

Liz Allbee - trumpet.
Liz Allbee lives in Oakland and plays in many settings including the bands Le Flange du Mal and Murdermurder.
Jon Raskin - baritone saxophone.
Jon Raskin has been a member of the pioneering, internationally acclaimed saxophone quartet Rova for over 25 years.
George Cremaschi - contrabass.
George Cremaschi works as a composer and improviser in a wide variety of situations and is currently planning a month long tour of the Balkans this spring.
Dina Maccabee, violin and viola.
Dina Maccabee collaborates and performs with Shotgun Theater Lab, the Shotgun Wedding Hip-Hop Symphony, Ramon and Jessica, Mark Orton's Aurora Septet, the Irene Sazer Vocal String Quartet, and the Yiddiots.
