Andrea Centazzo (perc) with Larry Ochs (sax) and a special guest.

Andrea Centazzo is one of Italy's most revered drummers. He has said: "When I started my career thirty years ago I was really into jazz drumming. But in 1973 I wend into a used record store in New York, and I found one of the first Nonesuch LPs on Balinese music. That was the beginning of my interest in gongs and minimal music for percussion." His music captures and expresses the rhythm and pulse of life by synthesizing the mystery of Oriental percussive vibrations with the timbral harmonic understanding of contemporary music and the soul of jazz and rock post-culture.
At Wednesday's concert, he'll be playing with Larry Ochs. Ochs is one of the best modern saxophonists and creative musicians, who Bay Area creative music fans will know best from the ROVA saxophone quartet. But check out Sax and Drumming Core, his trio with two drummers (Scott Amendola and Donald Robinson.)
Centazzo and Ochs will be joined by a special guest percussionist.
