TION (pronounced “shun”) is the framework for New Music lifers Kyle Bruckmann and Zachary James Watkins’ dyadic electro-acoustic High Vibration Resonance activities.

In the midst of recent years’ creative projects landing Zachary in the role of composer and Kyle as interpreter (Splinter Reeds, Black Triad), the two began collaborative duo explorations of interactive feedback tone generation at West Oakland’s Santo Recording. The resulting methodology - documented on the new album Phantom Physics | UNCLCKD on Sixtyhurts - employs Bruckmann’s reeds (oboe/English horn) and Watkins’ square waves and multiple
speaker configurations in service of maximalist spatio-textural modulation.
